McCREARY COUNTY PVA
WELCOME
The McCreary County Property Valuation Administrator has created this website in an effort to better serve property
owners, appraisers, bankers, government officials and other interested parties. This site will provide general property
information, links to state agencies and other information to assist the public in understanding the operation of the PVA
Office.
The McCreary County PVA is dedicated to serving the public through fair assessment of all lands and improvements
thereon, as required by Kentucky law. The PVA’s assessment responsibility includes mobile homes, but does not
include motor vehicles or tangible property.
Kentucky law requires the PVA to assess at Fair Cash Value, all real property and improvements thereon, along with
ownership, as of January 1 of each year. State law also requires the PVA or designated deputy to physically review
each assessed property every four (4) years. If a property is purchased after January 1, the name of the former owner
is used until the next calendar year. An attempt is made by the PVA to see that all appropriate material is mailed to
the new owner using information provided to the PVA by recorded deeds. If, however, a property owner does not
receive a copy of the property tax bill, the owner may contact the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 376-2322
to obtain the tax bill information.
The PVA Office has attempted to ensure that the data contained in this website is accurate. The PVA makes no
