Notice to Property Owners and Occupants
The Spalding County Tax Assessors Office is now taking applications for the Conservation Program and the Forest Land Program for 2013. The Spalding County Tax Commissioners Office is taking applications for Homestead Exemptions and Real Property Returns. These returns should be filed by the taxpayer if any changes on land or improvements have occurred on their property from the year 2012. The Personal Property Return Forms are scheduled to be mailed out in the next few weeks. These should be completed to inform the assessors of the value of business inventory and machinery, boats and aircraft. The deadline to apply for these exemptions and to file the Real and Personal Property Returns will be April 1, 2013.

The Pre-Bill Mobile Home tax bills have been submitted to the vendor for printing. These tax bills will be mailed out in the next few weeks. The taxpayer will have 45 days to file an appeal. This appeal should be filed with the Spalding County Tax Assessors Office. The deadline to pay the Pre-Bill Mobile Home tax bill and obtain the 2013 decal will be May 1, 2013, and they should be paid in the Tax Commissioners Office.

In accordance with Georgia Law (OCGA 48-5-264.1), please be advised that a member of the Spalding County Appraisal Staff may visit your property to review or update property information.
