Sgt. Logan Niles
Sgt. Logan Niles began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer, after working as a supervisor, and later as a communication officer he was hired as a patrolman in 2005 by the Waukomis Police Department. In 2008 Sgt. Niles came back to the sheriff's department as a patrol deputy and later as a K-9 handler. Sgt. Niles oversaw the K-9 program and handled two different police service dogs during his time in the K-9 unit. Sgt. Niles was appointed to the rank of Sergeant by Sheriff Bill Winchester in 2012. Sgt. Niles is a CLEET certified basic instructor as well as a field training officer for the department. He is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association and currently holds the trilogy award. During his time at the department he has received a recognition award for his work with his K-9 partner Arco as well as a life-saving award. Sgt. Niles currently oversees the patrol division/K-9 Unit. He previously oversaw the communications division.
