Notes from Nancy
The McCracken County P.V.A. office has been my home away from home. I have been employed in the office over 40 years, having served as P.V.A. for the past 25 years. I am fortunate to have many opportunities as McCracken Co. P.V.A. to increase the professionalism and visibility of our office. I attained my CKA (certified Kentucky assessor) and SKA (senior Kentucky assessor) designations from the Department of Revenue. Also 80% of my staff have their designations. For the past 20 years I have been an instructor in our state education program allowing me the opportunity to network with P.V.A.'s and deputies statewide. I also served as president of the Kentucky Chapter of IAAO for the year of 2002-2003. I have served as a member of the Executive Committee for eight years. I had the honor of serving on the Local Host Committee for the 75th annual International Association of Assessing Officers Conference. In 1999 I was selected as the Kentucky Chapter member of the year. I also am the current Deputy Executive Director of Ky Chapter IAAO. I am presently serving the PVA Association as the 1st Region Executive Committee Representative.
We have made many positive changes in our office over the past years. Our PVA website was among one of the first counties in Kentucky to offer the service. We were instrumental in developing an exoneration program that some of the other counties now use. We helped develop office software that the majority of the counties used until the past year. We have implemented new digitized maps, photographs and sketches on the computer. Our county has been one of the leaders in Kentucky in Technology. Many awards have been presented to my office. In 2012 we were chosen as the Outstanding Assessment Jurisdiction of Kentucky. I was awarded the PVA of the Year in 2010. I also had the honor of being presented with the PVA Gold Service Award in 2016. These awards truly humbled me and I realize that my staff is what is behind a great office.
Professionalism and accountability are self-imposed requirements at the McCracken County PVA Office and the staff can take pride in their professional performance. We enjoy serving you. We have over 153 combined years of experience. The staff and I appreciate your trust and hope we continue to earn it. This web site has been prepared to assist you, as a property owner and taxpayer, in understanding the functions of your PVA office. We want it to contain information that is both useful and important to you, so we solicit your comments or suggestions for improvement. I am available to speak to and/or answer questions for interested groups. E-mail me at email@example.com. McCracken County is a great place to live and do business and the PVA office is proud to provide this service to you.Click Here for Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
