About Your PVA
Margaret Brown, PVA
I have worked in the Hopkins County Property Valuation office since February, 1987. I served as Chief Deputy from 1991 until being appointed PVA by Governor Beshear in February, 2008. I was elected as Hopkins County PVA in November, 2008 and again in the fall of 2010.
In 1990, I achieved the designation of Certified Kentucky Assessor and of Senior Kentucky Assessor in 1996. Also in 1996, I was awarded Deputy of the Year by the Kentucky Property Valuation Administrators Association. I will continue to attend professional education classes as long as I am PVA. I am a member of the Kentucky Property Valuation Administrators Association, serving my second term as a member of the Legislative Committee. I also belong to the International Association of Assessing Officers.
On a personal level, I am a member and serve on the Board of Directors of the Madisonville Noon Kiwanis Club, and I belong to the West Kentucky Photography Club. I am a long time member of the Madisonville First Christian Church where I serve as an elder and young children’s worship leader.
My family and I have made Hopkins County our home since 1967 when my husband began his optometric practice here. Our oldest daughter joined her father in 1988. Our youngest daughter opened her dental office in 1992. All three now practice their chosen professions in Madisonville. My two grandchildren are high school students at North Hopkins.
My faith, family, church and community are my priorities in a full and busy life. I view my position as Hopkins PVA as an opportunity to live my faith and to serve my community. I stand available to listen to your comments and complaints and to do my best to answer your questions.
I thank the people of Hopkins County for their trust.
