Annual assessment notices will be mailed on Friday, May 9, 2014. Each property owner has 45 days should they choose to appeal the assessment for Digest Year 2014. This appeal period will end June 23, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Mailed appeals postmarked on that date will be accepted.
Our office is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Richmond County Board of Assessor's Office is responsible for the preparation of the annual real and personal property tax digest in compliance with the laws of the State of Georgia. We strive to create an annual digest in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 48-5 and in a manner that will ensure and maintain confidence in all property valuations through equitable and uniform values for all property owners. Richmond County has approximately 80,000 real estate parcels, 9,000 business personal property accounts, and 5,000 pre-bill mobile home accounts. The county covers a total of 328.45 square miles.
The information contained herein reflects the values established in the "most current published" tax digest. The Richmond County Tax Commissioner should be contacted with tax bill related questions. Ownership records are continuously updated with a processing period, generally, one month following the filing of deeds with the Clerk of Superior Court.
