The Probate Court exercises jurisdiction over the administration of estates of deceased persons, the appointment of guardians and/or conservators for incapacitated adults and minors, and the emergency handling of persons suffering from mental illness and/or abuse of drugs or alcohol.

The Probate Court also issues certain licenses and permits and performs an array of administrative duties.

The Coffee County Probate Court is located in the Courthouse at 101 S. Peterson Ave., Douglas, Ga. 31533. It is located on the first floor at the end of the west wing.
