Mitch Burke, CFA – Property AppraiserMitch is life long resident of Gulf County. He is a 1984 graduate of Port St. Joe High School and a 1989 graduate of Florida A&M University where he received his degree in Business Economics. He has held a Florida Real Estate License for nearly 20 years and has over ten years of government experience with the Property Appraiser’s Office, Land Acquisition Office, and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. He had nearly ten years of working in the private sector, managing land assets for the largest landowner in Gulf County. He is married to wife Sabrina and has four children; Austin, Andrew, Coy, and Emma Grace. Samantha Naylor – Office AdministratorSamantha has been working with the Property Appraisers office since February of 2016. She is lifelong resident of Gulf County. She graduated from Port St. Joe High School 2012. She was the only female to play for the Port St. Joe HS Tiger Sharks varsity football team. She was also a member of the “Golden Girls” & “Elite Eight” girls state track championship teams. Samantha’s primary job duties include office administration, payroll, homestead evaluation, and tangible personal property. She is married to husband William “Billy” Naylor, a Wewahitchka native. Dan Christie – Chief Deputy AppraiserDan has been working with the Property Appraisers office since 1981. He has been living in Gulf County for 35 years. He is a 1971 graduate of Godby High School, in Tallahassee, Florida. Dan’s job duties include land assessments, mapping, and deed evaluation. Dan is married to wife Laura. Together they have a blended family of 5 children.Eddie Summers – Field AppraiserEddie has been working with the Property Appraisers office since 1999. He is a lifelong resident of Gulf County and a graduate of Port St. Joe High School. He spent 11 years with the St. Joe Box Plant. Eddie’s job duties include on-site field appraising and various other duties. Dennis Barfield – IT SpecialistDennis has been working with the Property Appraisers office since 2010. Dennis is a 1998 graduate of Bay High School in Panama City, Florida and a graduate of both Tallahassee Community College and Florida State University. He has worked as an Information of Technology Director for both the Office of Research at FSU and the Gulf County Board of Commissioners. Dennis’ duties include IT support, front end management, & various other duties. He is married to wife Elizabeth, who is a lifelong resident of Gulf County, and they have four children.Karen Seay – ClerkKaren has been working with the Property Appraisers office since 2011. She is a lifelong resident of Gulf County. Karen is a 1978 graduate of Port St. Joe High School. She is a graduate of Gulf Coast State University. She spent 13 years working with our local children at Port St. Joe High School. Karen’s duties include deed posting, reception, and various office duties. Karen is married to husband Craig and they have two children.Taylor Crews – Field AppraiserTaylor began working with the Property Appraisers office in August of 2016. He is a graduate of Wewahitchka High School and the University of Florida. At UF he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in real estate and urban land studies. He has over 30 years of experience as a real estate appraiser in the Memphis metropolitan area and served over 20 years on the West Memphis, Arkansas Planning Commission. Taylor and his wife moved to Port St. Joe in 2012 and have three grown children. Taylor’s job duties include on-site field appraising and various other duties.
