Tips to Shorten Your Visit to a Driver License Office

• Skip the office visit altogether!

Driver license renewals and address changes can be done via the internet, phone or mail.
• Make an appointment.

(Mid-month generally has more available appointment times than dates at the first or last of the month)
• Call several offices near you for the soonest appointment, but please make an appointment at just one office.
• Know office hours.

Most of our offices are open Tuesday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. As a result, our offices are busier on Tuesdays and after 5 pm.
• Avoid the lunch hour.

Many people try to do their business at this time. If you need to do this, please be sure to make an appointment.
• Be prepared.

Bringing the necessary documents can help avoid delays and frustrations.
• Renew early!

Renewals can be done 18 months before the license's expiration date. You can renew your license via the internet or at any driver license office.
