Community AffairsOperation Homestead Fed Our office will be collecting non-perishable food items during our homestead exemption filing period, January 1st through March 1st. Please bring in your donations when you come in to apply for homestead exemption. All items collected will be donated to the Panama City Rescue Mission. American Cancer Society Relay for Life Please join our Relay for Life team, The Assessors, at the Bay County Fairgrounds on May 7th and 8th for the 2010 Relay for Life of Panama City. As the event chair for the 2010 Relay for Life of Panama City, I would like to invite you to join our committee or form a team. Please contact me if you need additional information. You don’t want to miss out on the fun! One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people across the country each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much. 2009 Community Participation Relay for Life – May, 2009 - Our team, The Assessors, collected over $1,000 to support cancer research, education and services. Bay Division Start! Heart Walk – October, 2009 – Our team raised approximately $500 and participated in the walk that was held at Pier Park MDA Jail and Bail – Dan Sowell was arrested for being a “nice guy”. In just a few hours, he managed to raise over $1,000 for MDA! Santa is a Senior Citizen – November, 2009 - Our office collected personal care items for the residents of area nursing homes.
